Head of Iran's House of Parties Hassan Ghafourifard, leading a 6-member delegation, paid an official visit to China from Jun. 16, 2004 to Jun. 20 at the invitation of International Department, Central Committee of C. P. C.

     Wang Jiarui, Minister of International Department, met on Jun. 17 with Hassan G. together with the members of the delegation. Wang gave positive remarks to the important role played by the House of Parties in the Iranian political life and the contributions to the promotion of communications between two parties made by the House. He also hoped the House to further strengthen the ties between two parties so as to promote the development of relationship to a new level.

     Ismaeil Amati, Deputy Head of the Chinese National Congress, met on Jun. 18 with Hassan G. in the Chinese Congress's Hall. The two sides discussed the bilateral ties in all areas including the cooperation between the two parliaments and parties.

     In Iran News, Jun. 20, quoted from a report on Hassan G.'s visit to China, he gave a successful remark to this visit and "was pleased over the fact that Muslims have a special and high standing in the Chinese society and have top posts in the Chinese governmental sectors and Congress as well as governmental councils".
