On June 9, Ambassador Cong Peiwu met with Boroujerdi, Chairman of the Iran-China Friendship Association.

Ambassador Cong introduced China's principled stance on the current situation, praised the Iran-China Friendship Association's efforts in promoting bilateral relations and cooperation in various fields, and stated that the Embassy is willing to work with the Friendship Association to seize the important occasion of the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, continuously enhance mutual understanding between the two peoples, and consolidate the public opinion foundation for bilateral relations.

Boroujerdi stated that Iran highly appreciates President Xi Jinping's four-point proposal on maintaining and promoting peace and stability in the Middle East, and thanks China for upholding a fair and just position and for providing timely humanitarian assistance to the Iranian people. Iran-China Friendship Association will continue to play its role as a bridge, making contributions to the development of Iran-China relations.
