On May 31, 2023, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang met with German Chancellor's Foreign and Security Policy Advisor Jens Plötner in Beijing. The two sides mainly had in-depth communication on the preparatory work for the seventh round of China-Germany intergovernmental consultation, and exchanged views on international and regional issues of mutual interest and concern.
