H.E. Ambassador Pang Sen Meets with Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran

Ambassador Pang Sen met with Mr. Akhondi, Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran on July 17th 2018. The two sides exchanged views on China-Iran transportation cooperation.

Ambassador Pang Sen said that China and Iran established comprehensive strategic partnership in 2016 during President Xi Jinping's visit to Iran, and leaders of the two countries once again exchanged views on enhancing bilateral relationship and deepening practical cooperation during the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit held in Qingdao June this year. China will work together with the Iranian side to implement the consensus reached between the two presidents and to promote bilateral cooperation in all areas, including transportation cooperation.

Mr. Akhondi mentioned that Iran-China friendship enjoys a long history. Iran is a key country along the silk road and is willing to participate actively in the building of the Belt and Road. He also expressed the wish to enhance its cooperation with China in transportation and infrastructure construction, strengthening facilities connectivity and people-to-people bond of the two countries.
