On 19th December, Ambassador PANG Sen attended the opening ceremony of the Confucius Institute of the University of Tehran. More than 300 distinguished guests including officials from Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran presented the ceremony.

Addressing to the participants, Chinese Ambassador PANG Sen stressed the positive role of the Confucius Institute in enhancing the mutual understanding between China and Iran and promoting bilateral relations between the two sides.

The Confucius Institute is jointly established by the University of Tehran of Iran and Yunnan University of China. It is reported that a "Chinese Culture Week", a subsequent four-day event will be held following the opening ceremony.
