On August 10 local time, President Alpha Condé of Guinea met with Foreign Minister Wang Yi at the presidential palace in Conakry.
Wang Yi congratulated Guinea on its decisive victory over Ebola thanks to the leadership of President Alpha Condé and the solidarity of the whole nation. Wang Yi stated that China and Guinea have a tradition of mutual help. China not only extended a helping hand to Guinea in the first time against the raging Ebola, but will also take the lead in helping Guinea to accelerate its economic and social development in the "post-Ebola period". China is willing to work with Guinea to translate two advantages of the traditional friendship and economic complementarity between the two countries into new driving force for mutual beneficial cooperation, and transform Guinea's abundant natural and human resources into strength for its national development. Aimed at such two major development bottlenecks of Guinea as poor infrastructure and insufficient talents, China is willing to help Guinea to accumulate hard conditions for development by encouraging and supporting Chinese enterprises to participate in Guinea's infrastructure construction and to help Guinea to improve soft conditions for development by training professionals in different fields. China is also willing to establish three development systems with Guinea, including processing and manufacturing industry, food security, and public health precaution, to solve such three livelihood issues as employment, food and health.
Alpha Condé thanked China for its great help to Guinea in fighting against the Ebola, and stated that Guinea has begun the post-Ebola national reconstruction. Guinea is willing to learn China's experience, deepen the strategic cooperation with China and strengthen its capability of independent development. He expressed his hope that China could help Guinea to establish public health system, develop infrastructure construction, promote mining exploitation, improve industrial system and enhance agricultural productivity.
On the same day, Wang Yi held talks with Foreign Minister Lounceny Fall of Guinea in Conakry.
